Bill Maher<\/a> sent a direct message to media outlets that only report \u201chalf the story\u201d when it comes to politics, as well as what he says on his show, Real Time With Bill Maher<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the Friday, October 17 episode<\/a> of his late-night show, Maher, 69, took the opportunity to call out Fox News and the New York Post for partisan headlines and coverage.<\/p>\n

During his \u201cNew Rule\u201d segment, Maher declared, \u201cIf you think your job is just to tell people what they want to hear, you\u2019re not a journalist. You\u2019re a wedding DJ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, I\u2019ve complained about the media only telling half the story, lying by omission when they leave out the part that doesn\u2019t feed their narrative, he continued.\u201dA couple of weeks ago, Fox News and the New York Post committed the clearest example of this I\u2019ve ever seen when they described my editorial of September 26, where I called for a grand bargain between the far left and the far right \u2014 but completely left out the far right part.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher criticized the Fox News headline, which read: \u201cBill Maher calls for a return to \u2018old America,\u2019 tells left to scale back radical ideology: \u2018Smug self-righteousness.’\u201d<\/p>\n

He then issued a blunt takedown of the outlet, pointing out, \u201cI thought, \u2018Shouldn\u2019t you have also put the other half of what I said in your headline?\u2019 Well, I guess you\u2019ll get to it in the article. But you didn\u2019t do that either, you f\u2014ing liars.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Maher added, \u201cI know the right likes disappearing people now, but I\u2019m not going to let you disappear my point. And this is what happens after every show. And not just on Fox News, and not just on the right. Ironically, because the Blue Sky crowd hates me for calling them out on, yes, their voluminous bull\u2014t. They will also sometimes print my critique of the left because they want people to think I\u2019m a conservative. You are f\u2014ing liars, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then joked, \u201cHere\u2019s a test: Let\u2019s see who reports what I\u2019m saying now,\u201d before quipping, \u201cIf a truth falls in the algorithm, does it make a sound?\u201d<\/p>\n
