CLEMSON, S.C. \u2013 Clemson University men\u2019s basketball used a 25-4 run to end the first half and never look back in an 83-44 exhibition victory over Presbyterian on Friday night in Littlejohn Coliseum.<\/p>\n
The Tigers trailed 15-10 with 11:44 remaining in the opening stanza, but used a 25-4 run to take a 16-point lead into the break. Clemson exploded for 48 second half points in the dominating 39-point win.<\/p>\n
Twelve Tigers saw action against the Blue Hose and four scored in double-digits, led by Jestin Porter\u2019s (Houston, Texas\/Cypress Ridge\/Middle Tennessee State) 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and three made 3-pointers. Clemson posted 42 points from its bench. <\/p>\n
Nick Davidson (Mission Viejo, Calif.\/Mater Dei) (12), Butta Johnson (Huntsville, Ala.\/Grissom\/UAB) (11), Zac Foster (Atlanta, Ga.\/Woodward Academy) (10) rounded out the double-figure scorers.<\/p>\n
Aside from that, Carter Welling (Draper, Utah\/Corner Canyon\/Utah Valley) added eight points and a team-high eight rebounds off the bench. Chase Thompson (Glenwood, Minn.\/Alexandria Area) also added eight points with two thunderous dunks to go along with it.<\/p>\n
RJ Godfrey (Suwanee, Ga.\/North Gwinnett\/Georgia) turned in a solid first half with seven points and two blocks but suffered a sprained ankle and was limited to just under nine minutes. <\/p>\n
The Tigers\u2019 aggressive style of basketball forced 21 Blue Hose turnovers that turned into 21 Clemson points. Conversely, the Tigers committed just six turnovers that lead to three points. <\/p>\n
Clemson will open its season on Monday, Nov. 3 when it hosts New Hampshire for a 7 p.m. tip on ACCNX.<\/p>\n
