She also revealed that she recently read an early draft of the script and thought it was \u201cbrilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWell, you know, they sent a script, and a lot of it was brilliant,\u201d she said. \u201cSo I got very excited, and now we\u2019re trying to figure out what it is and where it\u2019s going to be and how much it\u2019s going to cost and all those logistical things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe last time Midler discussed the \u201cHocus Pocus 3\u201d script was in July 2024. During an appearance on the QVC+ talk show \u201cBusy This Week,\u201d she urged Disney <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/film\/news\/bette-midler-disney-hocus-pocus-3-speed-up-script-1236066383\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">to speed up development<\/a> on the long-awaited sequel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI haven\u2019t seen the script, but I\u2019ve heard rumblings,\u201d Midler said at the time. \u201cI think if they\u2019re gonna, they oughta, because time is not just marching, time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we\u2019re still breathing, I mean, God!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFormer president of Walt Disney Pictures Sean Bailey <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/news\/hocus-pocus-3-sequel-confirmed-development-disney-1235632580\/\">revealed<\/a> that \u201c\u2018Hocus Pocus 3\u2019 is happening\u201d in a 2023 profile with the New York Times. The first film, released in 1993, starred Midler alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as a trio of witches who return from the 17th century to cause havoc in modern-day Salem.
