\n\tEarlier today, Deadline reported that Yang was going to miss SNL<\/a><\/a> tonight as he was set to receive the Vantage Award at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\n\tYang\u2019s first mention on the Lorne Michaels-produced show was during Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u2018s monologue.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d singer addressed the controversy surrounding her album cover<\/a>, where she is seen kneeling in front of a man who is holding her by the hair. Carpenter joked that the man standing in front of her was actually Yang, showing him in a zoomed-out version of the album cover for Man\u2019s Best Friend.<\/p>\n

\n\tYang\u2019s bigger role on this week\u2019s SNL was during a pre-taped sketch for the music video \u201cMiddle School Lovin\u2019.\u201d In the pop video, Yang and Carpenter play middle schoolers going to a school-sponsored dance where they \u201cbreak the rules\u201d and \u201cgrind\u201d on each other.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know it girl, it\u2019s finally time. I see you eyeing me at school. It\u2019s been on both of our minds, and I\u2019m feelin\u2019 grown, twelve sprays of my dad\u2019s cologne,\u201d Yang sings in the pop video.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the duo arrives at school, they sing, \u201cWe\u2019re breaking the rules and I know that it\u2019s wrong, but it\u2019s feeling so right. We\u2019re thirteen, but tonight is the night \u2014 we\u2019re going to grind.\u201d<\/p>\n
