The day has come when you can purchase things right through an artificial intelligence platform, and Walmart<\/a> is one of the first retailers to jump on the trend.<\/p>\n

Walmart partnered with OpenAI on a new shopping feature where shoppers can complete purchases using ChatGPT, according to CBS News.<\/a><\/p>\n

The retailer is implementing ChatGPT\u2019s \u201cInstant Checkout\u201d feature, where shoppers conversing with the AI can browse through Walmart\u2019s offerings and purchase things over the platform.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know about the newly-formed partnership.<\/p>\n

How will Walmart shoppers use ChatGPT to buy things?<\/p>\n

The new partnership will enable \u201ccustomers and Sam\u2019s Club members to plan meals, restock essentials, or discover new products simply by chatting,\u201d according to Walmart.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cAI will learn and predict customers\u2019 needs, turning shopping from a reactive experience into a proactive one \u2014 what Walmart calls agentic commerce,\u201d the company said Tuesday.<\/a><\/p>\n

When shoppers type a query into ChatGPT, such as \u201cbest 4K TVs under $300\u2033 or \u201cgift for the ultimate sports fan,\u201d ChatGPT will suggest products within the app\u2019s chat.<\/p>\n

Are there any other retailers using AI to sell their products?<\/p>\n

Amazon<\/a> also has its own feature called \u201cBuy for Me\u201d<\/a> in the Amazon Shopping App.<\/p>\n

In the app, shoppers can buy products from vendors that aren\u2019t necessarily on Amazon\u2019s website without leaving Amazon\u2019s platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a customer decides to proceed with a \u201dBuy for Me” purchase, they tap on the Buy for Me button on the product detail page to request Amazon make the purchase from the brand retailer\u2019s website on their behalf,\u201d Amazon says<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Customers will then purchase the item from an Amazon checkout page to confirm order details, choose their preferred delivery address and add a payment method.<\/p>\n
