NEW ORLEANS \u2014 If you\u2019re heading to NBA YoungBoy\u2019s sold-out MASA Tour concerts at the Smoothie King Center<\/a> this Sunday, Oct. 19, and Monday, Oct. 20, here\u2019s what you need to know before you go, as the city manages a major police deployment amid a multi-million dollar budget deficit.<\/p>\n
According to Smoothie King’s website,<\/a> For safety and faster security screenings, all bags and purses are banned,\u00a0including clear bags. Only cell phones, keys, and wallets\/cardholders carried on your person are allowed.<\/p>\n “For this show, bags of ALL SIZES, including clear bags, will NOT be permitted inside the venue,”\u00a0Ticketmaster’s website says.<\/p>\n
The NOPD is deploying over 400 officers<\/a> across Downtown and the French Quarter. Expect walking beats, mounted units, bicycles, tactical teams, drones, armored vehicles, light towers, and high-visibility patrols. State and federal partners are also assisting.<\/p>\n
Thousands of fans are expected to be Downtown. Streets around Canal, Poydras, and Bourbon may be closed or restricted. Plan ahead if you\u2019re driving or using rideshares.<\/p>\n

Both New Orleans shows are sold out, with a maximum capacity of 17,000. Only resale tickets remain, with prices ranging from $299 for upper-level 300s sections to over $1,000 for floor seats.<\/p>\n
The MASA Tour is one of the most lucrative hip-hop tours, with gross ticket sales averaging $1.5 million per show, NOLA.com reported.<\/a> Local businesses, concessions, and parking could also see a boost from the events.<\/p>\n
