Keith Urban seemingly took a dig at his marriage to Nicole Kidman before their split was revealed.<\/a><\/p>\n

On Sunday\u2019s series premiere of \u201cThe Road,\u201d which\u00a0follows 12 aspiring musicians as they\u00a0compete to open for Urban<\/a>\u00a0at music venues across the country, the 57-year-old singer performed his song \u201cStraight Line\u201d from his latest album, \u201cHigh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Urban told fans in February 2024 that the song is about \u201cwanting to break out of a soul-sucking routine that you might be stuck in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe in a relationship, a job, with creativity, with yourself \u2026 whatever it is,\u201d he wrote on Instagram<\/a> of the message behind the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a message of feeling alive again and getting out from under that dark cloud,\u201d Urban added. \u201cIf you\u2019ve seen us in concert, I hope it gives you that same feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Urban also said that he chose \u201cStraight Line\u201d to be the lead single from the album \u201cfor a lot of reasons, but particularly because I think it represents an energy and spirit that became a through line of the whole record.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna cover a lot of themes, emotions and vibes on this album but a very human spirit runs through them all,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Urban filmed \u201cThe Road\u201d before news broke in September that the singer and Kidman, 58, separated after 19 years of marriage. Kidman officially filed for divorce<\/a> from Urban on Sept. 30. <\/p>\n

Earlier in the episode, Urban opened up about feeling \u201clonely and miserable\u201d <\/a>while on tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere do we start? It\u2019s a calling, and you\u2019re going to do it or you\u2019re not going to make it,\u201d Urban shared. \u201cWhen you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning and you\u2019re sick as a dog, you\u2019re in the middle of nowhere and you\u2019ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven\u2019t slept, and you miss your friends, and you\u2019re missing your family, and you\u2019re completely lonely and miserable and sick \u2014 and you say to yourself, \u2018Why am I doing this?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only answer can be: because this is what I\u2019m born to do,\u201d the Grammy Award winner said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to find out who\u2019s made for that stuff [on this show].\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Kidman\u2019s divorce filing,\u00a0new details have emerged<\/a>\u00a0about what went wrong between the former couple, who have reportedly been living separately \u201csince the beginning of summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir lives were moving in different directions, and once he quietly set up his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall,\u201d a\u00a0source told People<\/a>\u00a0about Urban moving out of their family home.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really hasn\u2019t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now,\u201d the insider continued. \u201cPeople close to Keith\u00a0felt like the split was kind of inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors have also swirled that Urban is already involved with a new woman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman. Let\u2019s just say, Nicole doesn\u2019t dispute that, but she\u2019s still shocked over it,\u201d\u00a0multiple sources told People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The A-listers tied the knot in 2006, and are parents to daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.<\/p>\n
