It\u2019s tailored toward giving the Southwest Mesa and Rio Grande corridor on-demand rides from their doorsteps to their chosen destination. The city says the new app optimizes routes every 20 seconds, looking into traffic patterns, driver availability and cancellations to make rides as quick and efficient as possible.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"791\" height=\"1024\" data-id=\"950667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/AUG-24-Connect-Zones-FINAL-V01-RG-5-791x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-950667\"  \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"791\" height=\"1024\" data-id=\"950666\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/AUG-24-Connect-Zones-FINAL-V01-SW-4-791x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-950666 lazyload\"  data- style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 791px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 791\/1024;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can use ABQ ride connect to take you straight from your doorstep anywhere around the zone that you\u2019re in,\u201d said Skrak. \u201cSo, if you live in the southwest Mesa zone, you can have them actually pick you up at your doorstep and take you anywhere within that zone that you need to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Downloading the app<\/p>\n<p>Now that the app is live, passengers can <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/ca\/app\/abq-ride-go\/id6752717384\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">download<\/a> \u201cABQ Ride Go!\u201d from the App store from their iPhones or Google Play and start riding \u2014 or call 234-RIDE. The free service runs from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>ABQ Ride told KOB that by Monday evening on the first day of the app, at least 25 people hitched a ride with the electric vans. They say more than 400 people have created accounts with the ABQ Ride Go! app.<\/p>\n<p>Servicing areas with fewer bus routes<\/p>\n<p>ABQ Ride\u2019s microtransit program serves areas with fewer regular bus routes, giving riders like Serafin and her daughter free trips to run errands, like picking up their family\u2019s groceries from Walmart. <\/p>\n<p>KOB took a ride along with them. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPos porque ya no batallo de andar con el cartito jalando,\u201d said Serafin (because I no longer struggle taking a cart), who takes the microtransit service twice a week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mom\u2019s saying because she doesn\u2019t struggle taking a cart,\u201d said her daughter, translating for her. \u201cThe van picks her up and drops her at her house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLos choferes son muy buenos,\u201d Serafin said (the drivers are very good). \u201cMuy amables,\u201d (very friendly).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, they\u2019re very nice,\u201d her daughter translated. \u201cThey\u2019re nice. They\u2019re caring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really helpful for people like where they want to go, they can go,\u201d said ABQ Connect Driver Muhammed. \u201cWe pick them up from the house, from curb to curb, and drop them in this zone, everywhere where they want to go. Before that they have to come to bus stops and wait for the bus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeeniors\u201d ready to assist with navigating new app<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kob.com\/new-mexico\/teeniors-program-offers-tech-help-to-seniors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Teeniors<\/a>,\u201d a group dedicated to helping Albuquerque senior citizens navigate technology, says it\u2019s ready to assist with the new app.<\/p>\n<p>Teeniors\u2019 mission is to connect teens with older adults to help them with technology. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am certainly familiar with the fact that everything in our society is becoming more digital, like you are living in an increasingly digital age whether you like it or not. And so, that\u2019s why our goal is to empower people,\u201d says Trish Lopez, the founder of Teeniors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will show you how to download the app, we will show you how to create an account, we will show you how to use it,\u201d Lopez says.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez says Teeniors has partnered with the City of Albuquerque for years. Seniors who are interested in receiving help from Teeniors to use the new app have several options to contact them or sign up for help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are at all 9 senior centers and Multi-Gen centers every other month. We are at 6, the most popular, the busiest ones every single month,\u201d Lopez says. <\/p>\n<p>Teeniors has a listing of their schedule on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teeniors.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.
