LONDON \u2014 European stocks are set to open higher on Tuesday, continuing positive momentum built at the start of the week on the back of the region’s defense stocks.<\/p>\n
The U.K.’s FTSE<\/a> index is seen opening 0.31% higher, Germany’s DAX<\/a> up 0.22%, France’s CAC 40<\/a>\u00a0up 0.2% and Italy’s FTSE MIB<\/a> 0.33% higher, according to data from IG.<\/p>\n European defense stocks were among the strong movers on Monday, with\u00a0Thyssenkrupp<\/a>\u00a0gaining almost 7.9% by the end of the session following the spinout and IPO<\/a> of its German warship manufacturer TKMS.<\/p>\n Hensoldt<\/a>\u00a0topped the STOXX 600 index<\/a>, having added almost 8%,\u00a0Renk<\/a>\u00a0gained around 6.7%, and\u00a0Rheinmetall<\/a>\u00a0closed 5.9% higher after U.S. President Donald Trump had another\u00a0tense meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a>\u00a0over the weekend regarding Ukrainian territory.<\/p>\n Third-quarter earnings season is kicking into gear this week with L’Oreal<\/a> and Assa Abloy<\/a> due to report Tuesday. There are no major data releases Tuesday.<\/p>\n Looking at global markets, U.S. stock futures were slightly higher overnight after Monday’s broad rally. Investors await a busy earnings week that could inform the trajectory of the markets, with\u00a0Netflix<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Coca-Cola<\/a>\u00a0set to report on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
