Indiana offered class of 2027 center Darius Wabbington this weekend.<\/p>\n
Wabbington attends Sunnyslope H.S. in Phoenix, Arizona, where he averaged 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game as a sophomore.\u00a0 He shot 26% from three on 99 attempts.\u00a0 Sunnyslope reached the state finals in Arizona\u2019s top class.<\/p>\n
Typically listed in the 6-foot-9 to 6-foot-11 range, Wabbington is one of the first centers IU has offered in the rising junior class, along with Indianapolis Pike H.S.\u2019s Isaiah Hill.<\/p>\n
Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, Wabbington is a 4-star, the No. 23 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 2 center.\u00a0 He\u2019s a consensus top-30 player in the class.<\/p>\n
Wabbington\u2019s father Derek played collegiate basketball at Wyoming and played semi-pro basketball in the Arizona area.<\/p>\n
For travel basketball, Wabbington plays for 16U Arizona Unity on the Nike EYBL Circuit.\u00a0 There he averaged 12.6 points and 7.6 rebounds over the course of the spring and summer.\u00a0 Several members of the IU staff including head coach Darian DeVries were at the Nike EYBL stop this week during the live evaluation period.<\/p>\n
