MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The City of Memphis debuted a new way to look at Memphis Police Department crime and arrest data in relation to the surge in federal law enforcement following the beginning of operations for the Memphis Safe Task Force.<\/a><\/p>\n

It shows data recorded since October 1, two days after the Memphis Safe Task Force operational period began. <\/p>\n

Below is a breakdown of each statistic to better analyze the data shown:<\/p>\n

The top left chart highlights what has been the Memphis Safe Task Force\u2019s primary objective: to arrest violent criminals with outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

This chart shows the total arrests made, categorized by felonies and misdemeanors. Mayor Paul Young says the numbers will likely differ from data shared by the U.S. Marshals Service.<\/p>\n

Like the previous chart, this compares data from October 2025 and 2024, showing the difference in call volume for MPD officers, sorted by priority. <\/p>\n
