John Stamos has set the record straight regarding whether he would leave his wife, Caitlin McHugh,<\/a> for Lori Loughlin amid the fellow \u201cFull House\u201d alum\u2019s separation from Mossimo Giannulli<\/a>.<\/p>\n The surprising incident unfolded during the episode of Ben Soffer and Josh Peck\u2019s \u201cGood Guys\u201d<\/a> podcast released Monday, shortly after Stamos opened up about his and Loughlin\u2019s rumored romantic history.<\/p>\n Lori Loughlin and John Stamos attend the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, on September 8, 2018. Variety via Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of people think, \u2018Oh, you guys were romantic,\u2019 or whatever,\u201d the actor, 62, began. \u201cYou know, I happened to say she was the one that got away in something \u2013 I think it was before I met Caitlin \u2013 and, you know, it was an interesting thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wrote about in the book, there was a very small window of the two of us being single at the same time,\u201d he continued regarding his 2023 memoir, \u201cIf You Would Have Told Me.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n Despite starring together as the married couple Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky in \u201cFull House\u201d and again more recently in \u201cFuller House,\u201d Stamos made it clear that the pair were never romantically involved.<\/p>\n Loughlin and Stamos at the 5th annual Race to Erase MS Gala at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California, on November 14, 1997. Do you do that with your wife? Are you a swinger?\u201d<\/p>\n However, the \u201cER\u201d alum suggested that he and Loughlin may have shared one romantic moment during their otherwise \u201calways platonic\u201d relationship<\/a>.<\/p>\n Stamos during an episode of the \u201cGood Guys\u201d podcast released October 20, 2025.<\/p>\n The \u201cFull House\u201d star opened up about his and Loughlin\u2019s rumored romantic history.<\/p>\n \u201cI always thought that we made out on some ride at Disneyland \u2013 I\u2019ve known her since the early \u201980s,\u201d Stamos said regarding a time when the pair were both single. \u201cI remembered, I think she said it didn\u2019t happen.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, I don\u2019t know if it was something I made up in my mind,\u201d he added. \u201cYou know, some kind of fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n Stamos went on to marry Romijn, 52, in 1998 before they\u00a0divorced\u00a0in 2005. WireImage<\/p>\n Loughlin, meanwhile, was married to film exec Michael Burns from 1980 to 1996. She was then with Giannulli from 1997\u00a0until their separation\u00a0earlier this month<\/a>. The pair share two daughters: Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella Rose, 27.<\/p>\n Elsewhere during the podcast, Stamos lamented his former co-star\u2019s split<\/a> from the famous fashion designer after almost 28 years of marriage.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just heartbroken for her right now,\u201d he shared. \u201cShe\u2019s just devastated.
