Food Network announced it has canceled its weekend talk show \u201cThe Kitchen\u201d after 40 seasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter 40 unforgettable seasons with over 500 episodes, #TheKitchen will officially come to an end on Saturday, December 13th,\u201d reads a post from the Food Network on Instagram. \u201cWe\u2019re immensely grateful to our hosts, crew, guests, and most of all, our loyal viewers for 10+ incredible years. Thank you for tuning in, cooking along, and being part of our community. Please join us for one final holiday season together in #TheKitchen.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Emmy-nominated show featured hosts Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Marcela Valladolid, and Geoffrey Zakarian as well as recurring guest Alex Guarnaschelli and focused on shared recipes and culinary tips.<\/p>\n
Biegel reposted Food Network\u2019s announcement on her Instagram story. Biegel added, \u201cIt\u2019s the end of an era. Thank you so much to all our fans. The Kitchen was the greatest professional honor of my life and I will be forever grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mauro reflected on his time on \u201cThe Kitchen\u201d via Instagram. <\/p>\n
\u201cI always knew what we had was special \u2013 rare, a unicorn, an anomaly. Shows don\u2019t last this long\u2026 and ours did. I\u2019ve prayed and given thanks every night for that fact,\u201d wrote Mauro. \u201cI didn\u2019t expect to feel this sad, but my optimism for what lies ahead outweighs the sadness. More than anything, I\u2019m deeply grateful and humbled for this immense opportunity that I will never forget.\u201d <\/p>\n
According to Food Network<\/a>, the hosts shared more than 2,000 recipes throughout the show\u2019s history. It featured special celebrity and chef guests such as Martha Stewart, Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray, Daniel Radcliffe, Tony Shalhoub, Regina King, and Vanilla Ice. <\/p>\n Flay weighed in on the news in the comments on Instagram. <\/p>\n \u201cThank you to the Kitchen and its fabulous chefs and hosts for holding it down on @foodnetwork for the last decade. Well done everyone.. an iconic run,\u201d Flay said. <\/p>\n \u201cThe Kitchen\u201d debuted in 2014 and episodes aired on Saturdays.
