Georgina Chapman<\/a>, the designer behind Marchesa and ex-wife of Harvey Weinstein<\/a>,\u00a0could be about to lose her\u00a0New York City<\/a> home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chapman is facing a foreclosure lawsuit on the two-bedroom at 99 Jane Street in the West Village, reports Real Deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chapman, who is currently dating actor Adrien Brody<\/a>, bought the apartment with all cash in 2009 for $1.7 million.<\/p>\n

Since then, she has re-mortgaged it twice along with her brother Edward Chapman, who is the CEO of high-end fashion brand Marchesa.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pair defaulted on the mortgage, lent by\u00a0CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC, in November 2024, according to the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chapman now reportedly owes the original $2.5 million loan plus interest and late fees.<\/p>\n

The condo board at 99 Jane is also suing Chapman and her brother for more than $7,000 in unpaid common charges and dues. The building boasts a gym and outdoor gardens.<\/p>\n

And there’s more money trouble for Chapman.<\/p>\n

GFP Real Estate is suing her for $1.4 million in back rent for an office she owned at 80 Eighth Avenue in New York, said the report.<\/p>\n

Marchesa is also floundering.<\/p>\n

The Better Business Bureau complaints section is flooded with complaints from customers who returned items but didn’t get refunds.<\/p>\n

‘Wow! Like everyone else here. I purchased a dress and returned for refund. It was accepted in December and I have emailed them and called more than a dozen times with NO RESPONSE! No refund!’ one wrote.<\/p>\n

Another said: ‘Don’t buy from Marchesa! I am having the same issues as the customers below. I placed an order, and I’ve been trying to return the unworn dress which was too big. 4 months later they finally replied with the return label. I sent back the dress and no refund has been credited to my account. Therefore, no dress no money.’<\/p>\n

In 2017, Chapman announced her split from Weinstein, who she married in 2007. In 2021, their divorce was finalized<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Weinstein was convicted of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual assault and sentenced to 23 years in prison.<\/p>\n

In June,\u00a0a judge declared a mistrial on another third-degree rape charge after jurors became unable to reach a verdict due to internal conflict.<\/p>\n

Weinstein will be tried for a third time later this year by New York prosecutors in that sexual assault case.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time,’ Chapman said in a 2017 statement.<\/p>\n

While the divorce was filed anonymously in New York Supreme Court, the Los Angeles Times reports Chapman’s payout was between $15 and $20 million.<\/p>\n

In 2024, a billionaire Bruce Karsh bought Chapman and Weinstein’s West Village townhouse\u00a0at 13 Bank St. for\u00a0$25.62 million.<\/p>\n

Chapman and Brody have been together since 2020.<\/p>\n
