Conservative commentator Scott Jennings<\/a> on Monday said it was \u201ckind of funny\u201d of President Donald Trump<\/a> to post an artificial intelligence-generated video of himself bombing \u201cNo Kings\u201d protesters with feces<\/a> \u2014 prompting a heated discussion on CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jennings argued on \u201cThe Source with Kaitlan Collins<\/a>\u201d that Trump was merely making a point with the bizarre video, namely that the \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests across America<\/a> on Saturday were an inherent waste of time because \u201cwe don\u2019t have a monarchy in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a democracy,\u201d he told Collins<\/a>. \u201cPeople voted, and they elected the president, and the only thing they\u2019re mad about is that he is lawfully executing the office of the presidency and enforcing laws that have been on the books for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennings further argued that the protesters \u201cmade up a reason to have a rally,\u201d thus refusing to consider that the millions who attended might have a litany<\/a> of gripes<\/a> with the administration<\/a>, and said about the video: \u201cI think it was kind of funny to be honest with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

His fellow panelist, CNN political commentator Karen Finney, staunchly disagreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was absolutely disgusting. And it is in line with so many things that the president has said where he talks about anybody who disagrees with him or didn\u2019t vote for him as the enemy. And in my lifetime, I\u2019ve never seen that in a president.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finney noted that Saturday\u2019s protesters engaged in \u201cthe whole point of America and of our democracy\u201d by peacefully making their voices heard. She said Trump\u2019s video is where \u201cthis so-called satire ends\u201d as it suggests that it\u2019s \u201cnot OK to hold your president to account.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennings agreed with Sen. Ted Cruz<\/a> (R-Texas), who said in a clip played on the air that Republicans<\/a> need to take \u201canger on the left\u201d seriously<\/a>, but argued Democrats<\/a> \u201cwould have had a better use of their time\u201d by knocking on doors than marching \u201cin crazy cat costumes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, Scott, you\u2019re saying that Americans who decide they want to take to the streets, and make their voices heard, because they feel like their president is not listening to them, and frankly, in some instances, has said we\u2019re \u2018the enemy,\u2019 simply because we disagree with him, you\u2019re saying that\u2019s not a good use of time?\u201d Finney countered.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cYou\u2019re criticizing these people who went out to be Americans and say they love their country, and want their president to listen to them, that\u2019s not a good use of time? That\u2019s outrageous.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Jennings argued that \u201cnormal people\u201d stayed home Saturday to watch college football, only to then claim, \u201cI don\u2019t care how they spend their time.\u201d He then reiterated that this is \u201cnot a monarchy\u201d in an attempt to once again downplay the reasons behind the protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finney argued that America might not be a monarchy, but that Trump is acting like a king.<\/p>\n

\u201cTime and time again, we are seeing him consolidating power, we are seeing him ignoring the co-equal branches of government,\u201d she said. \u201cHe has essentially neutered Congress, and Republicans in Congress are fecklessly allowing him to just do whatever he wants.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finney continued, \u201cRight now, we could be reopening the government if the president would step up and say, \u2018Let\u2019s everybody come together and let\u2019s figure out this solution.\u2019 He keeps consolidating power. That is what a king does.\u201d<\/p>\n
