{"id":243716,"date":"2025-10-22T14:32:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T14:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/243716\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T14:32:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T14:32:11","slug":"wta-player-who-took-on-aryna-sabalenka-at-wimbledon-suggests-she-could-end-her-2025-season-after-fitness-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/243716\/","title":{"rendered":"WTA player who took on Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon suggests she could end her 2025 season after fitness issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Aryna Sabalenka played many big names on her run to the Wimbledon semifinals this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenka-sends-heartfelt-message-to-emma-raducanu-on-social-media-after-knocking-her-out-of-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabalenka beat the likes of Emma Raducanu<\/a>, Elise Mertens and Marie Bouzkova to match her best ever result at the grass court major.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being the top seed and favourite for the title, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/stunned-amanda-anisimova-makes-immediate-comment-about-aryna-sabalenka-straight-after-knocking-her-out-of-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabalenka\u2019s Wimbledon run was ended in the semifinals by Amanda Anisimova<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is actually the player <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabalenka<\/a> beat in the first round who has revealed her injury concern that could end her season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2222149380-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Aryna Sabalenka shakes hands with Carson Branstine after their first-round match at Wimbledon in 2025\" class=\"wp-image-107009\" \/>Photo by ADRIAN DENNIS\/AFP via Getty ImagesCarson Branstine admits that she could end her season due to injury<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenkas-wimbledon-opponent-reacts-on-social-media-after-losing-in-the-first-round\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sabalenka beat Carson Branstine in the first round of Wimbledon<\/a> this year, the Canadian who is currently ranked at world number 175.<\/p>\n<p>While many players would shy away from playing the world number one, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/wta-player-wants-to-play-aryna-sabalenka-again-really-badly-as-she-knows-exactly-why-she-lost-to-her-at-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Branstine actually wanted a rematch with Sabalenka<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Branstine has not had that rematch yet, and instead has been competing at lower-level <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA<\/a> 125 tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>After losing in the first round of the WTA 125 event in Mallorca, Branstine was scheduled to head to Mexico for a tournament.<\/p>\n<p>However, Branstine actually withdrew from this tournament and she has now explained the reason behind this and admitted that she may not play again in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), \u201cHi everyone! I pulled out of the 125K in Mexico this week because of some family stuff, I also have a lingering hamstring pull from San Sebastian. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure if I will conclude my tournament season yet, I\u2019m taking everything day by day. Being 100% for BJK [Billie Jean King] Cup is my top priority!\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hi everyone! I grew up knowing that Canada is the most beautiful country on the planet. I grew up with the dream that I would represent Canada on a stage like this.
