February 17, 2025: Bell says \u201cfoundational trust\u201d is the key to her marriage, telling E! News<\/a>, \u201cEven if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family. I know he’s coming home. I know he loves our children. I know he strives to be a great husband and father.\u201d<\/p>\n

For example, she says, \u201cWhen he got to make out with Minka Kelly on Parenthood, I was like, \u2018Yes. Get it.\u2019 We\u2019re married, we\u2019re not dead.\u201d And the same goes for her work with Adam Brody on Nobody Wants This.<\/p>\n

“Dax also knows there’s no real threat there,” she insisted, “because Adam and I, if you were to see us in person, there is not chemistry. We bicker all the time. We’re like an old granny and grampy. It’s not hot and heavy on set at all.”<\/p>\n

February 9, 2023: Bell says she talks to her children about \u201chard topics\u201d like their father’s struggles with addiction. \u201cI talk to my kids about drugs, and the fact that their daddy is an addict and he\u2019s in recovery, and we talk about sex,\u201d she tells Real Simple, per Page Six.<\/a> \u201cThere are all these \u2018hard topics\u2019 that don\u2019t have to be if you give the person on the other end your vulnerability and a little bit of credit.\u201d<\/p>\n

June 19, 2021: During an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/a>, guest-hosted by Chelsea Handler, Bell opened up<\/a> about how the pandemic effected her marriage. \u201cAt the beginning of the pandemic, we were at each other’s throats, and then all the doors locked in our house, like, we had to stay inside, and we were like, \u2018Woof, we need to get a handle on the annoyances,\u2019\u201d she said, according to E!<\/a>. \u201c[Shepard] suggested we go to therapy separately, kinda, so that we could talk shit about each other.
