Take, for instance, The Longest Ride actor Scott Eastwood.<\/p>\n

While doing press this week for his new romantic drama Regretting You, the 39-year-old son of legendary actor\/director Clint Eastwood got razzed by co-stars Dave Franco and Mason Thames about how he got a gig playing Swift\u2019s love interest in her 2015 \u201cWildest Dreams\u201d video.<\/p>\n

Joking that Eastwood had the most romantic credits on his filmography while chatting with the Associated Press<\/a>, Franco revealed that the whole cast screened \u201cWildest Dreams\u201d on set, noting that co-star Mckenna Grace had no idea her movie dad was the co-star in a video that she loves. \u201cAnd she put it together in the moment: Scott\u2019s the guy from the \u2018Wildest Dreams\u2019 video,\u201d Franco said. \u201cShe immediately called her mom. She goes \u2018Scott\u2019s the guy.\u2019 And we hear her mom through the phone go, \u2018No!\u2019 You have a place in a lot of people\u2019s hearts with that video.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the thing.<\/p>\n

Eastwood said he was not really familiar with the singer before he got the gig.<\/p>\n

For real.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d never met Taylor Swift before,\u201d he said. \u201cShe called me out of the blue. She said, \u2018Hey this is Taylor.\u2019 I\u2019m, like, \u2018Taylor who?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only was he not on a first-name-only basis with Swift, but back in 2016, Eastwood told People that he almost didn\u2019t even get a chance to play Swift\u2019s love interest in the desert-set love story<\/a> in which the pair are filming a lush, dusty Out of Africa-style movie drama. \u201cNone of my agents wanted me to do it<\/a>, actually,\u201d said Eastwood at the time. \u201cThey said, \u2018Oh, we don\u2019t want you to do that! Why would you be Taylor Swift\u2019s boy toy?\u2019 and I said, \u2018Why the hell not?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

It all worked out, of course, with the video racking up more than 988 million views to date for the song that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n
