No. 3\u00a0Texas A&M<\/a>, the last unbeaten team in the Southeastern Conference, will put its unblemished 7-0 record on the line this weekend. The Aggies will go up against No. 20\u00a0LSU<\/a>\u00a0in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n

The two programs have played every season since 2011, beginning in the 2011 Cotton Bowl and carrying into Texas A&M\u2019s transition into the SEC (2012-onward). In that frame,\u00a0LSU\u00a0has won 10 of the 14 matchups. A&M however won last season\u2019s game 38-23 in College Station.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the ranked matchup, David Pollack made his prediction for the winner on the latest edition of \u2018See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack<\/a>.\u2018 Pollack is rolling with the Aggies to win a close one in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have the faith in LSU,\u201d Pollack said. \u201cThere\u2019s two games this week where I feel like there\u2019s a really good chance that it\u2019s going to happen. I\u2019m not going to bet against A&M because I think with LSU being beat up and being one-dimensional, while A&M is so elite at that dimension. That\u2019s the point. They\u2019re so elite at pass rush, third down and they\u2019re so good in coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have the cahones to pull the trigger, but I do like what I saw from LSU\u2018s offense. I don\u2019t like what I\u2019ve seen from the defense. Whit Weeks<\/a> is obviously a big deal on that defense and if he can get back, he will make a huge difference. I\u2019m going A&M, but I do think this is a super close game. I literally wrote down the score of 27-23, or something like that. That\u2019s how close it\u2019s gonna be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Points are usually put up in bunches when these two programs meet. Most famously, No. 22\u00a0Texas A&M\u00a0held off No. 7\u00a0LSU\u00a074-72 in a 2018 7OT classic. This game led to the sport changing its overtime rules. In the 14 games played between the two programs since 2011, the winner has scored at least 30 points in seven games.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0LSU\u00a0sitting at 5-2,\u00a0ESPN\u2018s\u00a0Rece Davis\u00a0tabbed this game as a \u2018last stand\u2019 for the Tigers. With matchups against A&M, No. 4\u00a0Alabama<\/a>\u00a0and No. 13\u00a0Oklahoma<\/a>\u00a0remaining on their schedule, winning out is likely the only way they could clinch their first College Football Playoff berth since 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a last stand for\u00a0LSU,\u201d Davis said on the \u2018College GameDay Podcast<\/a>\u2018. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean that they won\u2019t win another game if they don\u2019t win that. But it\u2019s a last stand in terms of relevance. It started the season top-five. It had a guy that many assumed would be in contention to be the first overall pick in the NFL Draft at quarterback. They also had year two of a defense that has been good.\u00a0(Diego) Pavia<\/a>\u00a0made them look less good on Saturday than they had been. Everything was in line, but now they\u2019ve lost two games.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut, we\u2019ve talked about how you have to get used to the new dynamic in college football.\u00a0Ohio State<\/a>\u00a0is a prime example last year. Lost a couple of games last year and all seemed lost, but it ripped through and won a National Championship. We haven\u2019t seen any indication from\u00a0LSU\u00a0that it could happen, but mathematically and skill-wise they\u2019re still really good. This is a last stand type game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kickoff for this weekend\u2019s Top 25 matchup in Baton Rouge is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
