We don&#8217;t know if Melissa a come but we preparing for it,&#8221; Morgan Stanford said while tending to an igloo. <\/p>\n<p>Fish vendor Marlene Deer said that there has been a lull in sales since the forecast of the storm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our customers get less, and those who come the beach not buying much, as dem fear dat it will spoil if the storm come,&#8221; Deer said.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the impending storm vendors are also selling their fish at significantly discounted prices.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mi wi [sell] for even $800 as it better than the fish dem get spoiled,&#8221; Princess said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the path to the beach also got some attention with persons cleaning drains heading into Old Harbour Bay. <\/p>\n<p>Disaster Coordinator for St Catherine, Dr Kurt Waul, said that, for the most part, the parish is advanced in its preparations for the storm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Rasbert Turner<\/p>\n<p> Follow The Gleaner on X and Instagram @JamaicaGleaner and on Facebook @GleanerJamaica.
