The “Promiscuous” singer penned a letter to her fans on Instagram <\/a>Friday, celebrating the 25th anniversary of her first album “Woah, Nelly!.” She accompanied the message with a throwback photo of herself from 25 years ago and a video of her waving to her fans from the stage at a show in Berlin.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I have decided to step away from performance for the foreseeable future and pursue some other creative and personal endeavours that I feel would better suit this next phase of my life,” Furtado said in her caption.<\/a> “I have enjoyed my career immensely , and I still love writing music as I have always seen it as a hobby I was lucky enough to make into a career . I\u2019ll identify as a songwriter forever.”\u00a0<\/p>\n “I\u2019m grateful for all the years of fun, community and wonder,” Furtado added. “Endless gratitude to anyone who has ever listened and vibrated with my music and attended any of my shows .
