Not too long ago, LSU<\/a> held a four-point lead over Texas A&M<\/a> at halftime. Tiger Stadium was rocking, hoping to see a massive win for the program. Instead, the entire third quarter has gone completely wrong, and Brian Kelly<\/a> is now an unpopular man in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n

Fans are beginning to once again express their frustration with Kelly. Reports of \u201cFire Kelly\u201d chants were coming from those in attendance. An interesting atmosphere might be building heading into the final quarter of play with Texas A&M up 35-18.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn absolutely putrid third quarter for @LSUfootball<\/a> in Tiger Stadium,\u201d Jacques Doucet said<\/a> via X. \u201c\u2019Fire Kelly\u2019 chants repeatedly breaking out in the north end zone. This whole thing feels like it\u2019s about to tip over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly jogged into the halftime locker room with a 18-14 lead thanks to some turnovers caused by the defense. Something drastically changed when the two teams came back out, as Texas A&M scored three touchdowns in the third frame. In almost the blink of an eye, the game flipped on its head.<\/p>\n

If this one continues to trend away from LSU, it will mark three losses over the past four games. Two of them were away from home, watching Ole Miss<\/a> and Vanderbilt<\/a> celebrate with the home crowd. Getting one against Texas A&M could have turned around the entire trajectory of the season.<\/p>\n

Instead, the noise surrounding Kelly is only going to grow. Frustrations stem from much further than this season, seemingly dating back to Kelly\u2019s arrival on campus before the 2022 season.<\/p>\n

No quick turnaround exists for him to get back on the right track either. LSU will take a bye week before taking the bi-annual trip to Tuscaloosa for a monster showdown against the Alabama Crimson Tide<\/a>. Another game where Kelly might be able to change a few people\u2019s minds with a win. Otherwise, some more \u201cFire Kelly\u201d chants might be raining down soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s coaching for his job this season,\u201d\u00a0Josh Pate<\/a> said leading into the Texas A&M game<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cI wouldn\u2019t circle this weekend. I would say this weekend, if they don\u2019t get the job done, there\u2019s a meeting in that building Sunday where some changes on his offensive staff are demanded. Then, the question becomes, does Brian Kelly look around and say, \u2018I don\u2019t have to answer to anyone. This is my offensive staff.
