The hockey world said goodbye today to goaltender Jake Patterson, who passed away too young, at the age of 31.<\/p>\n
It was announced on Friday night by his former OHL team, the London Knights, that Patterson died.<\/p>\n
At only 31, the news of his untimely passing<\/a> was shocking to fans of the junior club.<\/p>\n He served as a goaltender for the team during the 2012 to 2014 OHL seasons.<\/p>\n The London Knights would commemorate his passing with a post on “X” with a heartfelt message for his family and friends.<\/p>\n Jake Patterson’s death reverberates throughout the NHL world<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, the OHL is a source of NHL talent, and Patterson had deep ties to some players in the league currently.<\/p>\n Multiple NHL friends have expressed sorrow upon hearing his passing, including Max Domi<\/a>, a former London Knight, who was once his teammate. Domi would share his grief while remembering times he spent with Patterson in the past.He was also a teammate of Anthony Stolarz<\/a> and shared the net with London during his tenure there.<\/p>\n Patterson played a total of 77 games with the Knights and finished his 2013-14 season there with a record of 22-9-3, 3.15 GAA, and a .897 save percentage.
