The Paris Masters is set to begin on Monday, marking the final ATP Masters 1000 event of the season. <\/p>\n

World number one Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> will make his return to tour-level action in the French capital, where he will face either Sebastian Baez or Cam Norrie in his opening match.<\/p>\n

His rival, Jannik Sinner<\/a>, will make his fourth appearance at the tournament, and his first since 2023, having missed out last year due to a virus.<\/p>\n

A number of top stars have withdrawn from the 2025 edition of the Masters competition, including Novak Djokovic<\/a> and Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Qualifying for the Paris Masters is already underway, with several stars fighting for their place in the main draw of the prestigious event.<\/p>\n

For one American star, however, their qualifying campaign came to an abrupt end after a tough loss.<\/p>\n

Jenson Brooksby misses out on 2025 Paris Masters main draw<\/p>\n

Jenson Brooksby, who was seeded first in qualifying, failed to book his place in the main draw of the Paris Masters following a defeat to Botic van de Zandschulp.<\/p>\n

The US star was a set up against van de Zandschulp, but the Dutchman fought his way back into the match to clinch the victory, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.<\/p>\n

Brooksby\u2019s loss marked the first time in over four years that he failed to come through the qualifying stages of a Masters 1000 competition.<\/p>\n

The last near-miss came at the 2021 Miami Open, where he lost in the second round of qualifying to Italian player Thomas Fabbiano. <\/p>\n

He has competed in the main draw of five ATP Masters 1000 tournaments this year, achieving his season-best finishes in Indian Wells and Cincinnati, reaching the third round in both.<\/p>\n

His 2025 Masters series has now come to an end, however, with just two ATP 250 events left in the calendar for him to enter.<\/p>\n

Jenson Brooksby\u2019s recent results on the ATP Tour<\/p>\n

This year, Brooksby made his return to the tour after being sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 season with a 13-month suspension. <\/p>\n

In March, he claimed the first title of his career at the Houston Clay Court Championship, beating compatriot Frances Tiafoe<\/a> in the final. <\/p>\n

Recently, Brooksby reached the semifinals of the Japan Open, clinching victories over the likes of Ugo Humbert and Holger Rune<\/a> en route to the final four.<\/p>\n

He ultimately fell to Taylor Fritz<\/a>, with the world number four overcoming him in straight sets to advance to the final.<\/p>\n
