With Week 9 in the books, ESPN\u2019s College GameDay has announced its next destination<\/a>. The show will head to Salt Lake City in Week 10 for Cincinnati at Utah.<\/p>\n

College GameDay was in Nashville in Week 9 ahead of the highly anticipated Missouri<\/a> at Vanderbilt<\/a> game. It marked the program\u2019s second-ever trip to the Music City after previously visiting in 2008. The set was on campus rather than on Broadway after a request from the school, AD Candice Lee told the Vandy Hustler.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the ESPN GameDay Crew came, I think it\u2019s okay to say the initial interest was in [hosting it on] Broadway\u2026 we made an impassioned plea to why it needed to be on campus,\u201d Lee said, via Henry Oelhafen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This past week\u2019s show also saw comedian Nate Bargatze, a noted Vanderbilt fan, serve as the guest picker<\/a>. It was his first time on College GameDay since 2023, though he appeared in his hometown of Nashville cheering on his beloved Commodores.<\/p>\n

Vanderbilt is off to a historic start to the year, becoming a Top-10 team in the AP poll for the first time since the 1940s. The Commodores had a Top-15 showdown on tap in Week 9 as Mizzou came to town, but Eli Drinkwitz<\/a> said he understands why College GameDay came to town<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNah, we\u2019re just the sideshow that gets to show up,\u201d Drinkwitz said earlier this week on the SEC coaches teleconference. \u201cIt\u2019s all about them.\u201d<\/p>\n

College GameDay also played into the country music theme ahead of Missouri at Vanderbilt. Newly minted Country Music Hall of Famer Kenny Chesney preformed his hit song \u201cGet Along\u201d and Vanderbilt alumnus Dierks Bentley took the stage to perform \u201cWhat Was I Thinkin’\u201d as well as his new single \u201cIYKYK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea<\/a> also joined the set, and the crew held a remote interview with Georgia Tech<\/a> quarterback Haynes King<\/a> ahead of the Yellow Jackets\u2019 matchup against Syracuse<\/a>. Of course, Pat McAfee\u2019s<\/a> kicking contest also took place, though Vanderbilt made preparations. Vanderbilt allowed students to practice their kicking skills<\/a> ahead of the challenge.<\/p>\n

The Week 9 trip to Nashville comes amid a TV ratings surge for College GameDay. In Week 8, the show brought in its fourth-highest regular season viewership on record with an average of 2.7 million people tuning in ahead of Ole Miss<\/a> at Georgia<\/a>.
