Micah Richards told Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker the important role that one Manchester United star played during the 4-2 Premier League win over Brighton.<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> continued to build on their momentum on the weekend and the Red Devils have now climbed to sixth place in the Premier League table.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils are only one point outside of the Premier League top four after a remarkable turnaround in form under United head coach Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim watched on from the Old Trafford<\/a> dugout as United produced a strong performance against Brighton<\/a> in the Premier League on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha<\/a> broke the deadlock in the first half and Casemiro<\/a> doubled United\u2019s lead over Brighton<\/a> before Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> added his side\u2019s third after the break.<\/p>\n

Luke Shaw<\/a> started in the three-man backline of Ruben Amorim\u2019s tactical system for Manchester United<\/a> and impressed with the role that he played in the match.<\/p>\n

The England international was withdrawn in the 65th minute for Ayden Heaven<\/a>, but that was before Luke Shaw showed his versatility for United manager<\/a> Amorim.<\/p>\n

Shaw progressed up the pitch and stationed himself in midfield to provide much-needed support to Bruno Fernandes<\/a> and Casemiro<\/a> in the two-man pivot.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha also linked up with Shaw, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro by dropping into midfield and offering further reinforcements to United\u2019s system.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Micah Richards<\/a> felt that Shaw showed that he was \u201cvery brave\u201d to assist in the United midfield after stepping out of the backline.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat Man Utd have been crying out for is if you\u2019re going to play that system, be brave,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuke Shaw was very brave the way he stepped in, and then they go and get the goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look at the positioning yesterday of Cunha, Cunha was filling in in that midfield role.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alan Shearer\u2019s reaction to Man Utd\u2019s Premier League result against Brighton at Old Trafford<\/p>\n

United overcame a late scare against Brighton after Danny Welbeck<\/a> netted a free-kick before Charalampos Kostoulas found the back of the net in injury time.<\/p>\n

Bryan Mbeumo completed his brace deep into stoppage time at Old Trafford and ensured that United\u2019s 4-2 win meant his side walked away with all three points.<\/p>\n

Speaking on United\u2019s performance, Alan Shearer<\/a> said: \u201cIt was a big win for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cMbeumo getting a couple of goals [with] under [United] pressure in the last few minutes of the game. But then obviously he gets that goal and then it\u2019s all over.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Premier League legend continued: \u201cBut yeah, that result and the run they\u2019re on will give him [Amorim] huge confidence and everyone else and the belief that his system can work. He was right after all. Let\u2019s see.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think, yeah, good result. But let\u2019s see in the next month or so. That\u2019s what\u2019s going to make the difference.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut for them going forward and for the last few results, well, you\u2019ve got to say well done to them.\u201d<\/p>\n
