Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re amplifying our collective mission capability with ExoTerra, accelerating delivery across defense and commercial markets,” Dylan Taylor, Voyager chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “As freedom of maneuver becomes central to space control and deterrence, it’s imperative that reliable propulsion systems are built, tested and qualified right here in the United States.”

Colorado-based ExoTerra, founded in 2011, has spent the last couple of years expanding its staff and moving into larger facilities to meet growing demand for satellite propulsion. Money raised in 2024 helped ExoTerra reach its goal of delivering 15 Iris250 propulsion modules in one month.

“We’ve spent years developing efficient, compact and reliable electric propulsion systems, and joining forces with Voyager allows us to enhance and deliver these systems at scale,” ExoTerra CEO Mike VanWoerkom said in a statement. “Together, we’ll manufacture flight-proven propulsion technologies that fortify the nation’s ability to manufacture and field spacecraft with speed, resilience and cost efficiency.”

Halo Hall-Effect Thrusters

ExoTerra first demonstrated its Halo Hall-effect thrusters in orbit on DARPA Blackjack satellites.
