Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are on course for another meeting in the final of the Paris Masters, with the two stars of the game, the top two seeds. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s fair to say that Alcaraz<\/a> has had Sinner\u2019s<\/a> number this year, beating him in seven of the last eight meetings between the two players. <\/p>\n

Alcaraz praised Sinner<\/a> after losing the Six Kings Slam<\/a> final, which he did actually lose, but as that was an exhibition event, it doesn\u2019t count towards the head-to-head record. <\/p>\n

Sinner and Alcaraz first played each other in front of 500 people<\/a>, but now, it\u2019s the match that people want to see on the ATP Tour, with their matches normally breathtaking. <\/p>\n

Hopefully, another instalment will be on the horizon in Paris, and if Sinner and Alcaraz do meet in the final, it means the Spaniard will finish the year as the world\u2019s number one player. <\/p>\n

On the live coverage for the first day of the Paris Masters, talk centred around Alcaraz and Sinner, with their rivalry and a possible meeting to finish the Masters 1000 campaign on the agenda. <\/p>\n

Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson were the two players holding court on the situation between Sinner and Alcaraz, with the talk based on why the Italian has struggled in recent meetings with his rival. <\/p>\n

The conversation went as follows: <\/p>\n

Querrey: \u201cI think Carlos is just a little more dynamic in the way he plays; he throws in the drop shot. He\u2019s an entertainer so when they don\u2019t play in Italy, Carlos has the crowd on his side, they want to watch him, he\u2019s contagious. Right now, it feels like there is a little bit of a mental block for Sinner to beat Alcaraz because of the numbers we just saw there on the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson: \u201cI think Sam hit the nail on the head there. I think Jannik\u2019s everyday tennis just isn\u2019t quite as good as Jannik\u2019s but when he does play against Jannik, the level is there, it\u2019s exciting, it\u2019s usually for a big title and he brings his level just a little bit more than Sinner does.\u201d<\/p>\n

Querrey: \u201cHow do you say no to that (a Sinner-Alcaraz final in Paris), unless something crazy happens, then I see a final between those two at all four Grand Slams next year too. <\/p>\n

Johnson: \u201cYeah, there is a 100% chance that these guys play each other again, if they enter a tournament together, they usually meet in the final, so why not?<\/p>\n

Querrey: \u201cI\u2019m going no in Paris, though, I think they\u2019ve already qualified for the end-of-year finals, and I think someone is going to bow out early.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sinner vs Alcaraz head-to-head<\/p>\n

Other than the Wimbledon final, which Sinner won, it\u2019s been a really fruitless time of things for the Italian player when it comes to playing Alcaraz. <\/p>\n

The challenge for Sinner is to start pinching a few more of the game\u2019s big titles away from his opponent and if he can do that, he will get close to Alcaraz in terms of Grand Slams.<\/p>\n

It will be fascinating to see if the pair do meet each other in the Paris Masters and if they are going to avoid each other, it might be at this event after a long year on the tour. <\/p>\n

The ATP Finals is set to follow the Paris Masters, but winning the last 1000 event would be a feather in the cap for either player and perhaps Sinner will be working closely with his team to get one over Alcaraz at this event. <\/p>\n
