Cheryl Hines reflected on her tense appearance on \u201cThe View\u201d on the \u201cHot Mics With Billy Bush\u201d podcast Monday, admitting that the hosts\u2019 combative approach to her time at the table didn\u2019t take her by surprise.<\/p>\n

Bush asked the \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d actress if Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin were what she expected \u2014 to which Hines emphatically said, \u201cMhmm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hines went on the show Oct. 14 in promotion of her memoir \u201cUnscripted,\u201d but the actress said that she did not field a single question from the panel about her book.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was hoping that it was going to be more personal on \u2018The View,’\u201d she said. \u201cThey just wanted to grill me about Bobby [her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.]\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUnscripted,\u201d which will be released Nov. 11, documents her journey of blending families with Kennedy, silly anecdotes from the \u201cCurb\u201d set and her advocacy work for cerebral palsy, inspired by her nephew Michael.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan you tell when someone hasn\u2019t read your book?\u201d Bush asked the actress.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t think the ladies on \u2018The View\u2019 asked me one question about the book.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Hines\u2019 appearance on the talk show, the panel asked her about her husband RFK Jr\u2019s politics and experience as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Co-host Joy Behar<\/a> said she met with the actress before her appearance to ease her nerves.<\/p>\n

The interview got particularly heated between Hines and Hostin. The host called out Kennedy as the\u00a0least qualified Secretary of Health in history, arguing that Kennedy has no scientific or medical background. Hines pushed back by noting that one of President Barack Obama\u2019s Secretaries of HHS was an economist. When Hostin interrupted Hines during that same back-and-forth, the actress responded, \u201cMay I finish?\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the conversation, the ABC hosts conceded that Hines should not have to take responsibility for her husband\u2019s actions, with moderator Goldberg saying at one point that \u201cthis is not your fight, really, to be fighting,\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for Hines called the appearance a success despite the in-fighting between the panel. \u201cThe View\u201d is no stranger to heated discussions, often surrounding culture and politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheryl engaged with respect and class, in light of them\u00a0asking her repeatedly to defend her husband, which by the way was not the purpose of her appearance, it was to discuss her new memoir\u00a0\u2018Unscripted,’\u201d a representative for the actress wrote. \u201cShe was completely unbothered, as one would have to be living in a cave to think they wouldn\u2019t make Bobby the primary focus.\u00a0We still consider the appearance a success in spite of this.\u201d<\/p>\n
