{"id":259925,"date":"2025-10-30T02:37:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T02:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/259925\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T02:37:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T02:37:10","slug":"what-mischa-zverev-told-alexander-zverev-mid-match-during-his-opening-round-in-paris-which-helped-him-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/259925\/","title":{"rendered":"What\u00a0Mischa Zverev told Alexander Zverev mid-match during his opening round in Paris which helped him win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Alexander Zverev was made to work hard for his place in the third round of the Paris Masters.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to the French capital as the defending champion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zverev<\/a> may have expected an easy ride through to the last 16 when he drew world number 49 Camilo Ugo Carabelli.<\/p>\n<p>If their match was supposed to be a one-sided affair, Ugo Carabelli certainly didn\u2019t get the memo, as he snatched the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 [7-5].<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2243476553-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Camilo Ugo Carabelli celebrates against Alexander Zverev at the 2025 Paris Masters\" class=\"wp-image-139868\" \/>Photo by DIMITAR DILKOFF\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The Argentine\u2019s level dipped in the second, as Zverev forced a decider in his 24th career match at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/paris-masters\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paris Masters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pushing on in the third, Zverev grabbed a late break to win 6-7, 6-1, 7-5.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP<\/a> star Ryan Harrison shared what Zverev\u2019s coach and brother, Mischa Zverev, told him during the first set, which helped him turn things around.<\/p>\n<p>Mischa Zverev told Alexander Zverev \u2018to get forward\u2019 against Camilo Ugo Carabelli<\/p>\n<p>Harrison heard Zverev\u2019s older brother giving him some useful advice against Ugo Carabelli in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was an adjustment that came from the coaching corner, with his brother Mischa [Zverev],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHalfway through the first set, they said you have to get forward, because the court positioning from Carabelli was so far behind, he was opening the door for Sascha to come on into the net, and he did that effectively in sets two and three.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The adjustment clearly worked, as Zverev came back to win in three sets, securing his place in the third round.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was not easy. At the end there it was getting a bit chippy; it was very touch and go, 5-5 in the third, but as he often does, he found a way through there in the end, and he\u2019d be happy to get through that match,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/ryan-harrison\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harrison<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2243477914-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Zverev celebrates his opening win at the 2025 Paris Masters\" class=\"wp-image-139866\" \/>Photo by DIMITAR DILKOFF\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The American did, however, suggest Zverev still has work to do if he wants to compete with the likes of Jannik Sinner and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s got to be able to control the environment between the points;
