\n\tWhile Tom Cruise<\/a> could see into the future in Minority Report<\/a>, his co-star Colin Farrell<\/a> might have benefitted from a little foresight while making the movie.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar nominee recalled getting drunk one night before \u201cone of the worst days I\u2019ve ever had on a film set\u201d while making the 2003 sci-fi film based on Philip K. Dick\u2019s 1956 novella, noting that Cruise \u201cwas not very happy\u201d with him.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was my birthday on May 31, and we were shooting, and I begged production \u2014 who did I think I was? \u2014 of a $120 million film if they [could] not have me working on my birthday,\u201d he recalled on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/a>. \u201cSo of course my pickup was 6am on May 31, and I got up to all sorts of nonsense the night before. And I remember getting into bed, and as soon as I turned off the light, the phone rang and it was the driver, he said, \u2018It\u2019s 10 past 6.\u2019 And I went, \u2018Oh, shit.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNotably disheveled, Farrell was stopped by assistant director David H. Venghaus, who told him, \u201c\u2018You can\u2019t go to the set like this.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd I went, \u2018Just get me six Pacifico Cervezas and a packet of 20 Red.\u2019 Now, listen, it\u2019s not cool because two years later I went to rehab, right? But it worked in the moment. All the holy people that we look to on how to live a life would say the present is all that counts,\u201d added Farrell, who has been sober since checking into a rehabilitation facility in 2006.<\/p>\n

\n\tFarrell admitted he \u201chad a couple of beers\u201d before filming the scene, noting \u201cit was terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI will never forget the line I had that I couldn\u2019t get out,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was, \u2018I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve all grasped the fundamental paradox of pre-crime methodology.\u2019 That was the line that started the scene. I remember [the crew] coming up and saying, \u2018Do you want to go out and take a breath of fresh air?\u2019 And I remember thinking, \u2018If I go out and take a breath of fresh air, then I\u2019ll be under more pressure when I come back in to be better.\u2019 And I went, \u2018No, we\u2019ll just go through it.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe did 46 takes. Tom wasn\u2019t very happy with me.
