Shoretire went on to make five total appearances<\/a> for United\u2019s first team before leaving the Red Devils on a permanent basis in 2024.<\/p>\n The talented youngster opted for a move abroad, signing with Greek side PAOK. <\/p>\n He had a brief reunion with United<\/a> in the Europa League last season, but he struggled to hold down a starting spot.<\/p>\n Shoretire joined a new club in the summer, making a switch to PEC Zwolle.<\/p>\n Shola Shoretire is still under contract to PAOK and made the switch from Greece to the Netherlands during the summer.<\/p>\n He signed with Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle, who have endured a tricky start to the season, ranking 15th in the table after 10 games.<\/p>\n Shoretire has played in seven of those matches, but his best game for the club came in the KNVB Cup as Zwolle took on lower division side Helmond.<\/p>\n He scored his first goal in a 4-1 win, and posted on Instagram to celebrate the positive step forward.<\/p>\n Shoretire wrote: \u201cJust the start!! First\u00a0@peczwolle\u00a0goal & more steps fwd.\u201d<\/p>\n Shola Shoretire is rebuilding<\/p>\n As one of Manchester United\u2019s top prospects during his time at the club, Shoretire has not hit the heights that were envisioned.<\/p>\n During his early years in United\u2019s academy, Bayern Munich and Barcelona<\/a> were among the foreign clubs claimed to be interested in his signature.<\/p>\n The former England under-19 international is aiming to use this year as one to rebuild, where he can get regular football under his belt, and scoring his first goal is a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n This weekend the 21-year-old will hope to have secured his spot in the starting line-up for Zwolle\u2019s trip to Heracles.<\/p>\n Shoretire can take inspiration from former United academy prospect Angel Gomes<\/a>, who also took an odd route to prominence, earning a call up to the England squad in 2024<\/a>, and now representing Marseille.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A look at how former Manchester United prospect Shola Shoretire is faring.
