Angel Reese has trademarked her name. It\u2019s another step in a busy offseason for her business empire, from movie cameos to Victoria\u2019s Secret fashion shows<\/a> to the sold-out release of her AR1 sneakers.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a post from Heitner Legal on X revealed that Reese had trademarked her name. It\u2019s not yet clear what that means, other than it likely signals a new merchandise drop. In June she trademarked the phrase \u201cMebounds,\u201d invented by internet trolls to mock her offensive rebounds off missed layups.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever came up with the \u2018mebounds\u2019 thing, y\u2019all ate that up,\u201d she quipped in a TikTok video. \u201c\u2018Mebounds,\u2019 rebounds, \u2018crebounds\u2019 … anything that comes off that board, it\u2019s mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese flipped the phrase and made it her own, selling apparel with the slogan.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou would have never thought I made six figures in, literally, a day off of that,\u201d Reese told the Sun-Times soon after the launch<\/a>. \u201cAnd y\u2019all can continue to troll me, but I turned this into a positive.\u201d<\/p>\n

She donated the proceeds from Mebounds merchandise to victims of cyberbullying, acknowledging that the effects of online harassment are very real \u2014 something she deals with often.<\/p>\n

Though Reese\u2019s offseason has been busy business-wise, it hasn\u2019t necessarily cleared things up basketball-wise. Toward the end of the season, the Sky<\/a> suspended her for an interview in which she criticized the team and suggested she might go a different direction<\/a> if the organization failed to attract top players. She then finished the season sidelined with a back injury and did not give an exit interview<\/a> after it ended.<\/p>\n

When Season 2 of her Unapologetically Angel podcast dropped, she promoted the first episode as \u201cExit Interviews My Way,\u201d but she barely mentioned the Sky, instead discussing her season in broader terms.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s official stance<\/a> is that they\u2019ve \u201cmoved on\u201d from the incident and expect Reese to return next season.<\/p>\n
