FSU heavily recruited Marvin Jones Jr.<\/a>, a former five-star recruit and Seminole legacy prospect, out of high school. However, Jones would commit to Georgia<\/a> over the Seminoles. After two seasons in Athens with limited playing time, Jones entered the transfer portal looking for a bigger role. FSU, once again looking to the portal to find their next Jermaine Johnson or Jared Verse<\/a>, made a quick decision to pursue the son of Shade Tree. While the addition made a ton of sense on paper, things didn’t go as planned once the Seminoles took to the field in 2024. MJJ, who showed subpar effort in practice and sometimes in games, had six TFLs and four sacks for a FSU defense that struggled mightily. He was only in the program for a year before once again entering the portal, landing at Oklahoma.
