The College Basketball Crown is slated for a return. The second edition of the event put on by Fox Sports and AEG will be held again April 1-5 in Las Vegas and air on Fox and FS1, sources told SBJ.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s field will feature the top two teams from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East that don\u2019t receive NCAA tournament bids, along with two wild card teams selected by a committee.<\/p>\n

As part of the 2026 rendition of the event, a handful of inaugural sponsors will also remain onboard. They include:<\/p>\n

Vivid SeatsGhost EnergyJSXCirca Resort & CasinoMGM Resorts International<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s event won by Nebraska included the winning squad earning a $300,000 NIL package, while second place earned a $100,000 package and the remaining $100,000 was split evenly between the third- and fourth-place teams.<\/p>\n

The 2026 event is expected to include NIL opportunities for participating teams, thought details remain in the works.<\/p>\n

Fox drew 822,000 viewers for the debut championship game<\/a> for the College Basketball Crown in the spring, which was 62% better than the 508,000 viewers that ESPN drew for the NIT championship (UT Chattanooga-UC Irvine). Across all Crown games on FS1 and Fox, the first year of the event averaged 260,000 viewers, up 23% from the NIT across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU (212,000).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The College Basketball Crown is slated for a return.
