\n\tA CBS News<\/a> spokesperson said that the network has had \u201cno discussions\u201d with Gayle King<\/a> about her contract amid a report that she is expected to depart CBS Mornings<\/a> next year.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,\u201d a CBS News spokesperson said. \u201cShe\u2019s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about her future.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tVariety, citing four sources familiar with the matter, reported that King was expected to leave the show, but that she may take a different role in the news division.<\/p>\n

\n\tKing has co-anchored CBS\u2019 morning show since 2012, a mainstay even as different co-hosts have come and gone and the program has gone through format changes. She co-hosts the show with Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe signed<\/a> a new deal last year to stay at CBS News and, in a previous contract extension in 2022, announced her renewal on her SiriusXM show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe only thing I don\u2019t like about this job are the hours,\u201d she said. \u201cBut you can\u2019t complain about the hours cause the job is what it is. And I\u2019m so proud to be a part of the team, I\u2019m so glad that the negotiations are over.\u201d As she continued on the morning show, King co-hosted a weekly CNN show with Charles Barkley, called King Charles, but it ran for less than a year between 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS News is in the midst of an overhaul following Skydance\u2019s acquisition of Paramount, with Bari Weiss hired earlier this month with the title of editor in chief. Big changes are expected for CBS Evening News, with co-anchor John Dickerson announcing that he would be departing the network at the end of the year.<\/p>\n
