Dan Lanning can\u2019t make it any clearer.<\/p>\n
The Oregon coach, in an appearance on The Ruch Eisen Show, was asked Thursday his interest in leaving Oregon amidst job openings around the country, including Florida and LSU.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s zero,\u201d he said. \u201cYeah, I\u2019m not leaving Oregon. As long as I win, that\u2019s what I always tell my kids. If your dad wins, we\u2019ll be at Oregon. So, I\u2019ve got to win. That\u2019s how it changes.\u201d<\/p>\n
So, unless Lanning\u2019s Ducks struggle and he is fired, the coach isn\u2019t leaving Eugene.<\/p>\n
Lanning is 42-7 in his fourth season in Eugene, winning the Big Ten in 2024.<\/p>\n
The coach shared his thoughts on how coaching changes impact a community.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, probably more than anything, it makes me grateful for where I\u2019m at and recognizing how fragile and special it is,\u201d Lanning said. \u201dAnd it motivates you to keep working hard because you realize how temporary things can be if you\u2019re not moving in the right direction. But on the same note, I always think a little bit more about everybody else involved in that.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, the assistant coach, the graduate assistant, the player, they signed up to play for somebody, and just how quickly your world can change. You know, continuity, stability, I think, is super important, and it\u2019s hard to have. And when you have it, I think you got to make sure you recognize it and take advantage of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
