{"id":262454,"date":"2025-10-31T08:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T08:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/262454\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T08:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T08:03:10","slug":"alex-de-minaur-reacts-to-the-best-news-hes-got-in-a-long-long-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/262454\/","title":{"rendered":"Alex de Minaur reacts to \u2018the best news\u2019 he\u2019s got \u2018in a long, long time\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Alex de Minaur enjoyed a much more straightforward win in the second round of the Paris Masters compared to his opening victory.<\/p>\n<p>Following a tough three-set battle against Gabriel Diallo in the first round, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alex-de-minaur\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">de Minaur<\/a> beat 10th seed Karen Khachanov in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian wrapped up the contest with the 2018 Paris Masters champion in just 67 minutes to advance to the quarterfinals. <\/p>\n<p>De Minaur is still in search of his first Masters title, having only reached one final at the level before, which came at the 2023 Canadian Open. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2242279510-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alex de Minaur reacts at the Vienna Open.\" class=\"wp-image-138858\" \/>Photo by GEORG HOCHMUTH\/APA\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>With world number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/cameron-norrie-reveals-what-happened-the-morning-before-beating-carlos-alcaraz-which-really-helped-him\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Alcaraz bowing out in the early stages<\/a> of the tournament, the top half of the draw is wide open, and de Minaur has a golden opportunity to finally achieve the feat in the French capital.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the triumph over Khachanov, the world number six received even more good news after the match.<\/p>\n<p>Alex de Minaur reacts to qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin<\/p>\n<p>De Minaur\u2019s win saw him tally enough points to qualify for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aTP-Finals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP Finals<\/a> in November, becoming the seventh player to punch his ticket to Turin.<\/p>\n<p>He has now booked his place in the year-end tournament for the second year in a row, but de Minaur said he was unaware of his accomplishment after overcoming Khachanov.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had no idea,\u201d he said in an interview with Tennis Channel. \u201cI mean, it was the best news I have got in a long, long time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I had no idea. Of course, there\u2019s so much chatter.
