So, before we get into that, here\u2019s what went down. Reese just filed to trademark her name. Yes, Angel Reese\u2122 is officially a thing now!\u00a0<\/p>\n

The filing came through Angel Reese LLC, her own company back in Maryland that runs all her business and branding ventures. And the United States Patent and Trademark Office confirmed it on Tuesday, October 28. Now, while this move doesn\u2019t exactly shock anyone (because, come on, who else but Reese?), it\u2019s the timing that\u2019s got people talking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Over on Front Office Sports Today, Baker Machado and reporter Amanda Christovich brought it up. Machado said, \u201cYou know, this comes a couple weeks after WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert was accused by Napheesa Collier of saying players like Caitlin Clark or others are using the platform that the WNBA provided them to get these endorsement deals. Is this almost sort of a flex by these players to sort of say, not really?\u201d<\/p>\n

To which Christovich instantly replied<\/a>, \u201cYeah, absolutely.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, just so we\u2019re all caught up\u2026.remember how Phee stirred things up with the CBA talks after that private convo with Cathy went public? She claimed the commissioner said that when she asked about the league\u2019s low rookie pay scale for stars like Caitlin, Angel, and Paige, Cathy\u2019s response was, \u201cCaitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court because without the platform the WNBA gives her, she wouldn\u2019t be making anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while Cathy denied it, most people didn\u2019t exactly buy that. But to be real, Reese\u2019s move couldn\u2019t have been a reaction to that. Why? Because her trademark application was actually filed way back on March 7, way before the mess even started. Still, it\u2019s easy to see why people are connecting the dots.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Because if Engelbert did say that, it doesn\u2019t really hold up. Stars like Reese, Caitlin, and Paige Bueckers have been building their brands since their college days. Reese was the \u201cBayou Barbie\u201d before she even set foot in the W.\u00a0And this isn\u2019t even her first rodeo in the trademark world. \u00a0Back in June, she filed to trademark \u201cMebounds,\u201dwhich started as a playful jab at critics who teased her for grabbing her own rebounds. Instead of being bothered, she flipped it like a boss. \u201cWhoever came up with the \u2018mebounds\u2019 thing, y\u2019all ate that up because \u2018mebounds,\u2019 rebounds, \u2018crebounds\u2019\u2026 anything that comes off that board, it\u2019s mine,\u201d she said on TikTok. \u201cAnd a brand? That\u2019s six figures right there.\u201d<\/p>\n

So yes, she literally turned trolling into successful apparel brand<\/a>. As Christovich perfectly summed it up, \u201cThat speaks to her power and her influence in the business space.\u201d<\/p>\n

And it looks like this offseason, we won\u2019t be watching Reese crash the boards, we\u2019ll be watching her cash them instead.<\/p>\n

Unrivaled\u2019s lineup for the 2026 season is officially set, and it\u2019s got fans doing a double take. On Thursday, the league announced its final roster spots are heading to the Indiana Fever\u2019s Aari McDonald, Chicago Sky\u2019s Rebecca Allen, and Seattle Storm\u2019s Dominique Malonga. The trio steps in after DiJonai Carrington had to pull out following a left foot sprain from the WNBA playoffs.<\/p>\n
