YouTube TV and the The Walt Disney Company have failed to reach an agreement on a streaming contract.<\/p>\n
As of Friday, ABC and ESPN, along with more than 20 channels, will be removed from Google\u2019s YouTube TV.<\/p>\n
Other channels include Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic and Freeform.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV,\u201d the platform said in a posted statement<\/a> on social media Thursday.<\/p>\n In addition to ABC and ESPN, which features SEC football, Disney content recordings will be removed from YouTube TV.<\/p>\n According CNBC, the two sides were unable to reach a new distribution agreement before their existing contract expired Oct. 30 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.<\/p>\n On Thursday, YouTube argued Disney <\/a>had \u201cused the threat of a blackout on YouTube TV as a negotiating tactic to force deal terms that would raise prices on our customers.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney\u2019s own live TV products,\u201d YouTube TV said in a post on its help center webpage<\/a>. <\/p>\n Disney\u2019s live TV offerings include Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, and we\u2019re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement,\u201d YouTube said in its statement, adding that if the content is unavailable for an extended period of time, the company will offer members a $20 credit. <\/p>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
