The previous contract expired at 11:59 PM ET on October 30th, and it\u2019s unclear when, or if, the two companies will reach a new deal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The blackout was prompted by disagreements over carriage fees, with Google saying in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/inside-youtube\/disney-youtube-tv\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">blog post published last week<\/a> that Disney was \u201cproposing costly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers.\u201d That same post was updated at 11:15PM on Thursday, claiming that Disney had followed through on threats to pull its channels from YouTube TV, which Google described as a \u201cnegotiating tactic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">\u201cWe know this is a frustrating and disappointing outcome for our subscribers, and we continue to urge Disney to work with us constructively to reach a fair agreement that restores their networks to YouTube TV,\u201d Google said in the statement. \u201cIf their content remains off YouTube TV for an extended period of time, we\u2019ll offer subscribers a $20 credit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The full list of removed Disney-owned channels includes: ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Freeform, FX, FXX, FXM, SEC Network, Nat Geo, Nat Geo Wild, ABC News Live, ACC Network, and Localish. For YouTube TV subscribers on the Spanish plan, ESPN Deportes, Baby TV Espa\u00f1ol, and Nat Geo Mundo have also been pulled. The removals impact recordings and on-demand content saved to YouTube TV users\u2019 libraries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The Verge has reached out to Disney for comment. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/youtube-tv-blackout-loses-abc-espn-disney-networks-1236566477\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">statement to Variety<\/a>, Disney said that YouTube TV \u201chas chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels, including ESPN and ABC,\u201d and claims that Google is \u201cusing its market dominance to eliminate competition and undercut the industry-standard terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">A similar breakdown between Google and Disney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/12\/14\/22833849\/youtube-tv-disney-carrier-dispute-abc-news-espn-december-17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">occurred in 2021<\/a> at the end of their previous contracts.
