Lily Allen<\/a> has taken a shot at her ex-partner David Harbour<\/a> by wearing a \u2018Madeline\u2019 costume for Halloween.<\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter released her first album in seven years, \u2018West End Girl<\/a>\u2019, last week (October 24), and she has confirmed that her split from the Stranger Things<\/a> star was a major source of inspiration for the songs on the record.<\/p>\n

One song in particular has been identified as central to the theme of the break-up with Harbour \u2013 \u2018Madeline\u2019 sees her construct a fictional character who Allen implies had an affair with Harbour, and in the song, she reads out what appears to be a voice note from Madeline to the actor. \u201cI can\u2019t trust anything that comes out of your mouth \/ I\u2019m not convinced that he didn\u2019t fuck you in our house,\u201d she sings.<\/p>\n

Now, Allen has taken another swipe at Harbour by dressing up as the children\u2019s book character Madeleine, the young girl living at a Paris boarding school from the 1939 novel of the same name by Ludwig Bemelmans.<\/p>\n

She appeared at a Halloween party in the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles dressed from head to toe as the character, with a blue coat, red neckerchief, straw hat and bright orange wig.<\/p>\n

Since the album\u2019s release, a woman named Natalie Tippett has come forward claiming to be the woman that was having an affair with Harbour<\/a>. She told the Mail on Sunday<\/a>: \u201cOf course I\u2019ve heard the song. But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It\u2019s a little bit scary for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite her claims, Allen insisted in an interview with\u00a0The Sunday Times<\/a>\u00a0that the song \u2018Madeline\u2019 is a fictional character who is a \u201cconstruct of others\u201d.<\/p>\n

News of Allen\u2019s separation from Harbour arose towards the start of the year<\/a>, amid rumours that there was cheating on the\u00a0Stranger Things<\/a>\u00a0star\u2019s part. Earlier this year, Allen\u00a0revealed that she went into a treatment centre to deal with the \u201cemotional turmoil\u201d<\/a>\u00a0of the split.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2018West End Girl\u2019 was\u00a0given a four-star review from\u00a0NME<\/a>, and praised as \u201ca sleek, smart collection that sees Allen back at her very best\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you\u2019d expect from her most \u2018vulnerable\u2019 album, there\u2019s a lot of grief and misery across \u2018West End Girl\u2019, but it never sounds depressing,\u201d it read. \u201cSince \u2018Smile\u2019, Allen\u2019s always had a knack for making devastation sound exciting.<\/p>\n

This week, Allen announced her first tour in seven years \u2013 she will play \u2018West End Girl\u2019 in full at a run of \u201cspecially-chosen\u201d theatres across the UK in March, culminating with two nights at London\u2019s Palladium.
