\n\tMiles Teller<\/a> portrayed former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d cold open, which poked fun at the New York City mayoral debate.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou all know me. I got us through COVID and then yada yada yada, honk honk, squeeze squeeze,\u201d Teller\u2019s Cuomo said, miming a squeezing motion with his hands in reference to Cuomo\u2019s sexual harassment allegations. \u201cAnyway, I\u2019m back. I am born and bred New Yorker. I love it here. I know this city like the back of a woman\u2019s back.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe segment also featured Ramy Youssef and Shane Gillis as Cuomo\u2019s fellow mayoral candidates, Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa, respectively. During the cold open, Teller\u2019s Cuomo and Gillis\u2019 Sliwa repeatedly butchered Mamdani\u2019s name, including calling him \u201cZoltar Rob Zombie\u201d at one point.<\/p>\n

\n\tKenan Thompson, portraying the debate moderator, asked the candidates, \u201cYou\u2019re all running to be mayor of New York City. So my question is, why would you want the worst job in the world?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs we all know, as soon as you are elected mayor, everyone in the city immediately hates you. And in that way, I\u2019m already one step ahead of the game,\u201d Teller\u2019s Cuomo replied.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe cold open parodied several moments from the NYC mayoral debate, including Sliwa\u2019s random anecdotes \u2014 such as his story about being shot multiple times in a yellow cab.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked what their message was to undecided voters, Youssef\u2019s Mamdani looked directly into the camera as hearts floated around him and said, \u201cMy message is this: Hey, girl, I know you got a little white guilt for gentrifying that Spanish neighborhood. Why don\u2019t you vote for me? You\u2019ll feel a little less bad about that chicken-and-rice shop getting turned into a Sweetgreen. Why don\u2019t you hit me up at the ballot box, girl?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMr. Mamdani, you were warned that this is not the forum for your TikTok-ery,\u201d Thompson replied. <\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of the segment, Thompson asked the candidates, \u201cWhat do you think is the biggest problem you have to confront as mayor?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJames Austin Johnson then appeared as President Donald Trump, yelling, \u201cIt\u2019s me!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson\u2019s Trump later said, \u201cI may not live in New York anymore. But I\u2019m always watching \u2014 lurking in the shadows. Much like the late, great Phantom of the Opera. Terrible what happened to him in terms of opera and with regard to being burned by chandelier. Perhaps I\u2019ll add New York mayor to my list of duties.\u201d <\/p>\n
