Actress Suzanne Rogers has been diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n
The 82-year-old actor was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer during the summer, E! Online reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n Rogers is best known for her character Maggie Horton on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. She\u2019s been playing the character for more than 50 years.<\/p>\n Rogers told TV Insider she went to the doctor because something didn\u2019t feel right and underwent several tests.<\/p>\n \u201cHe said, \u2018You have cancer and you have to start treatment,\u2019\u201d Rogers said. She did chemotherapy and radiation daily for six weeks while the show was on hiatus. <\/p>\n Actress Linsey Godfrey, who plays Sarah, Maggie Horton\u2019s daughter on the soap, sat with her while she underwent treatment. Several other costars supported her during the summer.<\/p>\n She admitted she\u2019s a bit anxious about returning to work because she wants to do her \u201cvery best and you don\u2019t want to hold up anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n In 1984, Rogers was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis<\/a>, a rare nerve and muscle disorder.
