The \u201cJason Universe,\u201d a relaunch of the Jason Voorhees character from the rights holders, has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start so far this year, with a host of weird announcements making most horror fans wonder what the hell is even going on here. It\u2019s been called a \u201cmulti-platform expansion,\u201d with everything from NECA toys<\/a> to an Angry Orchard commercial<\/a> being promised thus far, and a brand new Jason design headed to Halloween Horror Nights<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n

Where else is this weird new Jason headed? To San Diego Comic-Con this month!<\/p>\n

IGN<\/a> has exclusively announced this afternoon that the \u201cJason Universe\u201d initiative will host its own San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 25, and it\u2019s being presented as a \u201ccelebration of Friday the 13th\u2018s 45th anniversary that\u2019s filled with exclusive first looks, multiple standout giveaways, and a deep dive into Jason\u2019s blood-soaked history and what\u2019s lurking ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other words, if you\u2019re wondering what else this new \u201cJason Universe\u201d is planning in the coming months, you\u2019ll probably want to pay attention to this particular SDCC panel. Among other things, it\u2019ll feature a first look at \u201cSweet Revenge<\/a>,\u201d the aforementioned Angry Orchard commercial that\u2019s being directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, Silent Night, Deadly Night).<\/p>\n

A message from the set of Peacock and A24\u2019s \u201cCrystal Lake<\/a>\u201d is also being promised, with the panelists including Mike P. Nelson, Horror, Inc. President Robert Barsamian, VP Robbie Barsamian, and CMO Sheri Conn, as well as Atomic Monster EVP of Film Judson Scott.<\/p>\n

The \u201cJason Universe\u201d panel, taking place in Room 5AB from 5:30pm \u2013 6:30pm, will also include a number of giveaways exclusively available for all fans who attend the panel, including:<\/p>\n

A first look and fan giveaway of Spirit Halloween\u2019s newest Jason mask, crafted in celebration of his 45th anniversary and his frightening new design.
\nExclusive 45th anniversary hats, only available by attending the panel.
\nAlso crafted exclusively for those attending the panel, a limited-edition 18\u2033x12\u2033 Mondo lithograph inspired by the upcoming Sweet Revenge vignette will be distributed. Designed by panel moderator and Mondo Senior Creative Director Peter Santa-Maria (a.k.a. AttackPeter).
\nJason fans can also visit NECA\u2019s SDCC booth (#3545) to view the unveiling of their new 7\u2033 Scale \u2013 Ultimate Savini Jason action figure, which will be the first collectible based on the fan-favorite 2017 video game Friday the 13th: The Game.<\/p>\n
