University of Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.<\/a> was arrested on several charges during the team\u2019s bye weekend. <\/p>\n

The UA sophomore from Gadsden was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail at noon Saturday. <\/p>\n

He is charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude and speeding, according to jail records. <\/p>\n

Kirkpatrick was released on $1,500 bond within an hour of his booking. <\/p>\n

Circumstances leading to Kirkpatrick\u2019s arrest were not immediately clear on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The investigation is being led by the University of Alabama Police Department. <\/p>\n

Efforts to reach police and UA officials for comment were not immediately successful.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware of an incident involving Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and are working to gather more details at this time,\u201d a spokesperson for UA athletics said.<\/p>\n

Kirkpatrick\u2019s father, Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., played for Coach Nick Saban at Alabama from 2009-2011. <\/p>\n

Kirkpatrick Sr. then went on to an NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n

Kirkpatrick Jr. was Saban\u2019s first legacy commit during the coach\u2019s tenure.<\/a> <\/p>\n

A three-star UA sophomore defensive back from Gadsden City High School, his final four included Missouri, Arkansas and Auburn. <\/p>\n

He has seen time in all eight games so far this season.<\/p>\n

He has primarily worked as a reserve defensive back while playing on special teams.<\/p>\n

Over eight games, Kirkpatrick has tallied nine total tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. He also broke up a pass in the Georgia game.<\/p>\n
