\n\tAfter addressing the \u201cracist\u201d and \u201creally fucked up\u201d cutoff to SNAP benefits<\/a> as a result of the ongoing government shutdown<\/a> on his social media, Saturday Night Live Weekend Update<\/a> co-anchor Michael Che<\/a> continued his commentary with a joke about the dire state of food insecurity in the U.S.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDue to the government shutdown, SNAP food benefits ran out of funds today, but the government still provides needy families with free food through the Second Amendment,\u201d he said, as the show\u2019s program flashed a graphic of a gun on screen, eliciting loud laughs and audible winces from the audience as realization set in.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere, Che lobbed a joke at Prince Andrew, who was recently stripped of his royal titles<\/a> by King Charles III amid continued controversy over his links to child sex offender\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPrince Andrew has been stripped of his royal title of prince due to his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, and Andrew says he can only become prince again if he gets a kiss from a young princess,\u201d Che quipped.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLast night\u2019s edition of Weekend Update also featured the triumphant return of Bowen Yang<\/a>\u2018s George Santos<\/a> \u2014 still a con artist, but with a new notch on his belt as the Louvre robber. The disgraced former congressman, and perennial liar, guested on the desk after his prison sentence was commuted, bragging about having won the New York City marathon (which is currently taking place). <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, I\u2019m rich now too because I just took a trip to the Louvre,\u201d he quipped, flashing his jeweled necklace, which he claimed he reappropriated for his \u201cancestors, the Zales.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThroughout the appearance, Yang\u2019s Santos also sidebarred to take phone calls from his fellow inmates Ghislaine Maxwell, \u201croomie\u201d Diddy and \u201ctwunk murderer\u201d Luigi Mangione. After stealing co-anchor Colin Jost<\/a>\u2018s wallet and unveiling the photos he keeps of his female SNL<\/a> colleagues, Weekend Update continued the ongoing bit that Jost has an unhealthy obsession with the women on SNL. \u201cGive me back my angels!\u201d Jost shot back.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a bonus, Santos also claimed, \u201cI won the World Series!\u201d moments after the Los Angeles Dodgers\u2019 repeat win<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a surprise standout, Ashley Padilla<\/a> and Andrew Dismukes<\/a> proved themselves to be MVPs \u2014 shining not only in the \u201cHockey PSA\u201d sketch<\/a> as insufferable commercial directors, but also as \u201cTwo People Who Just Hooked Up\u201d discussing the government shutdown. Enter: Padilla with bedraggled hair; as she questions whether she looks OK, Dismukes \u2014 clearly smitten \u2014 replies, \u201cPerfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhat starts off as a pitiful attempt to discuss the warring Democrats and Republicans grows into thinly veiled metaphors for their burgeoning relationship, as the duo gaze longingly into each other\u2019s eyes for extended seconds at a time. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMaybe the Republicans are scared because their government hasn\u2019t been opened in \u2026 a long time. God, not since Jason,\u201d Padilla reflects. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWho is Jason?\u201d Jost interjects, \u201cIs he a congressman?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPadilla scoffs, \u201cHe\u2019s not a man.\u201d<\/p>\n
