The theme of the event, unsurprisingly, centers on AI.

Interestingly, this is the first time in around three years that Samsung is again heading to San Francisco for its ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event, with the last one featuring the launch of the Galaxy S23 series back in 2023.

Samsung typically holds the debut event for its S-series in late January or early February. As such, the upcoming event’s late February calendar entry is somewhat aberrant.

Also, Jukan reports that Samsung will not launch an S26 Edge during the planned event, replacing the ultra-slim model with a ‘Plus’ variant instead.

This neatly ties into persistent rumors around the S26 Edge in recent days and weeks, which said that Samsung was evaluating the model’s fate in light of the S25 Edge’s subpar sales performance and Apple’s concurrent struggles with the iPhone Air.

Nonetheless, we reported recently that Samsung continues to develop a smartphone under the relatively silly alias of “More Slim,” with the variant billed as a more extreme version of the Edge model, which creates a unique differentiating factor for Samsung.

As such, the “More Slim” S26 Edge is only expected to see the light of the day months after the Galaxy Unpacked event in February, if at all, possibly serving as a replacement for the S26 FE. Do note that the S25 Edge was only launched in May 2025.

Here are the key highlights of what the Galaxy S26 lineup might bring to the proverbial table:

Some reports in recent days have indicated that Samsung is bringing back its dual chip strategy, planning to use the highly capable Exynos 2600 chip in around 50 percent of the Galaxy S26 smartphones, especially in regions such as South Korea and the EU, while the US, Japan, and China will get S26 smartphones that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

A sketchy rumor claims Samsung might bring variable aperture tech to the S26 Ultra’s camera setup.

The base Galaxy S26 might sport a new 50MP main camera sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to sport a new 1/1.1-inch 200MP Sony sensor, with an F1.4 aperture.

Follow Wccftech on Google or add us as a preferred source, to get our news coverage and reviews in your feeds.

Samsung has had a fairly predictable launch cadence for its Galaxy S-series smartphones over the past few years.…

[41
165,74
0":"post-267772","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-mobile","9":"tag-technology
["GET
