Arsenal<\/a> continue to look almost impenetrable and goalkeeper David Raya<\/a> has credited a summer arrival in the coaching staff for his influence.<\/p>\n The Gunners suffered a couple of early setbacks this season, losing narrowly at Liverpool<\/a> and drawing with Manchester City<\/a>, but have been superb since then.<\/p>\n Four wins on the bounce in the Premier League<\/a> see Mikel Arteta<\/a>\u2019s side sit top of the division and thanks to slip-ups from the Reds and City, Arsenal are already six points clear.<\/p>\n 18 goals scored in 10 games is a very decent return, but it has been their defence that has truly stood out as exceptional.<\/p>\n Arteta\u2019s men have conceded just three goals in their 10 Premier League outings so far, keeping four clean sheets on the spin in the top flight.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Manchester United every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. <\/p>\n In all competitions, the Gunners have not conceded a goal in any of their last seven matches, with the last player to breach their defence being Newcastle<\/a>\u2019s Nick Woltemade on September 28.<\/p>\n Raya has been a big part of this success but he has offered the credit to a man who won the Premier League with Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t Former Red Devils defender Gabriel Heinze was brought into Arteta\u2019s coaching staff over the summer<\/a> and Raya feels the attitude of the Argentinian has been a welcome addition.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s a guy, he\u2019s a coach, where he wants us to fight \u2013 a lot of intensity,\u2019 Raya said after Arsenal beat Burnley on Saturday<\/a>. \u2018To win games, you have to defend very well, especially in this league. This is the toughest league in the world.<\/p>\n \u2018You have to be very, very, very solid to be able to win games. Normally, the games are won by one goal. So, it\u2019s really, really important to keep that asset from us, from everyone. Not just the back line, just every single player. So, it\u2019s a lot of credit to him as well.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Arteta also praised the relentless pursuit of success of Heinze, saying last month: \u2018I think that\u2019s something very, very collective with all the coaches, with the players, with their commitments as well and Gabi added something different, that willingness to win, I think. <\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve seen that obviously through his career, that experience to win and to elevate somebody\u2019s level and ambition and drive to the highest limit and he\u2019s extraordinary at that.\u2019<\/p>\n Arteta has also said that his players \u2018love\u2019 Heinze and his presence on the training ground.<\/p>\n \t\t The 47-year-old had stints in charge of Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors, Velez Sarsfield and most recently Newell\u2019s Old Boys in his home country of Argentina.<\/p>\n He also had a brief spell as manager of Atlanta United in MLS. His most recent spell in a top job was with Newell\u2019s, which ended in November 2023.<\/p>\n His move to Arsenal to work with Arteta has roots in the Spaniard\u2019s loan move to PSG from Barcelona in the 2001-02 season, when Heinze was playing for the French side.<\/p>\n Speaking last year, Arteta spoke of teammates at the time who influenced him, saying: \u2018The other inspirations were [Mauricio] Pochettino and Heinze, those two were next to me all the time, behind me, and they were guiding me in everything I had to do in my professional life, how I had to understand the game and they were inspirational to me.\u2019<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow![\"Burnley](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/GettyImages-2244483157.jpg\")
