John Oliver <\/a>capped off Sunday night\u2019s episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver<\/a> by launching his own cabernet sauvignon\u2014and yes, it\u2019s real, and available to purchase online.<\/p>\n The unveiling came at the end of a segment in which Oliver explored the long history of celebrity wine ventures, from Orson Welles\u2019 drunken Paul Masson ad shoots<\/a> to a 1990 instructional VHS titled The Celebrity Guide to Wine<\/a>, featuring then-spouses Steven Seagal and Kelly LeBrock, to MacLachlan\u2019s Washington winery, Pursued by Bear<\/a>.<\/p>\n Oliver went on to note that there\u2019s already a Canadian wine bearing his name: the \u201cJohn Oliver Selection,\u201d<\/a> which is actually named for British Columbia\u2019s early-20th-century premier, known as \u201cHonest John.\u201d With the Canadian wine unavailable for import to the U.S., Oliver introduced his own label, Cabernet SauvignJohn, which he is selling online in a limited run.<\/p>\n Promotional materials describe the wine as being made from \u201cthe finest Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with notes of vanilla, cocoa powder, dark fruits, plum, and a hint of leather. Plush tannins, medium-plus body.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis California cabernet is a great way to kick back, relax, and wind down after a long week.
